Last night, it wasn’t that cold, so I went to the beach…
And engaged in one of my favorite activities: stargazing.
And got lost in the dance of the moon peeking through clouds and stars.
Though I’m far from an astrology expert…
I’ve always been fascinated by the moon’s influence on the ocean’s tides…
And, of course, our moods.
Let’s not forget that 60% of our bodies are water.
That’s when I started thinking about its effects on our pineal gland…
And remember a very interesting story my aunt once told me that I would like to share with you.
The moon’s phases have a profound impact on our emotional and physical states.
Intriguingly…
Some research suggests these celestial movements might also affect the pineal gland…
A small but mighty organ in our brain known for regulating our sleep patterns and hormone balance.
Imagine, if the moon can sway vast oceans…
What might it do to this tiny gland within us?
Recent studies, including one intriguing piece of research…
Have noted significant changes in the morphology of the pineal gland in mice correlating with the lunar cycle.
These changes suggest that the gland’s secretory activity might wax and wane with the moon…
Influencing not just our sleep…
But potentially our very development and aging process.
This connection between the lunar cycle and our inner world isn’t new.
Ancient civilizations have long revered the moon’s phases…
And integrated this celestial body’s rhythms into their spiritual practices.
My aunt, who was very much into the spiritual realm and practices…
Once told me that during the full moon…
The pineal gland becomes more receptive to cosmic energies.
This gland (AKA our “third eye“) is our spiritual antenna.
It has the power to connect us to higher states of consciousness.
This memory inspired me to delve deeper into this subject.
I really wanted to understand how the moon’s energy could activate our pineal gland…
And share it with you.
I found that just as our ancestors prepared their bodies and minds for profound spiritual experiences…
We can also prepare ourselves (and our pineal glands)…
To receive the energy of the full moon…
And activate its divine power.
Here’s how you can align with the moon’s energy to activate your pineal gland:
During the full moon, try to adopt a diet free from animal products. This purification period will create a receptive state for spiritual energies to flow harmoniously.
Create an exceptionally peaceful and pure state of being. This means reducing the noise and clutter in your physical environment and cultivating an inner state of peace and serenity.
Use elements such as water, sage, cedar, palo santo, or tobacco to cleanse your space. These traditional tools offer protection and create a sacred environment for your spiritual practices to thrive.
Meditate a few minutes before going to sleep. Visualize the moon’s energy flowing into your pineal gland and imagine this energy as a healing light, awakening and energizing your third eye.
My aunt used to say that our creativity is at its peak during a full moon. Draw, paint, write, or engage in any other creative activity to allow your intuition and inner wisdom to flow freely.
The moon phases, especially the new and full moon, are powerful times for setting intentions and reflecting on your personal growth. Use journaling as a tool to express your thoughts, desires, and reflections with greater freedom and clarity. This will help you cultivate a deeper connection with your inner self.
To truly synchronize with the natural rhythms of the moon, try to reduce your exposure to electronic screens, especially in the evening. This can help your body and mind become more attuned to the natural world and lunar energy, as well as improve the functioning of your pineal gland.
Nature is inherently connected to the lunar cycles. Spending time outdoors under the moonlight, just like I did last night, can strengthen your connection to the moon’s energy. This can enhance your spiritual practice and ground you in the present moment.
The moon’s influence on our pineal gland is more than just a mystical belief.
It’s a reminder of our deep connection to the cosmos and the natural rhythms that govern life itself.
When you align your actions and inner rhythms with the lunar cycle…
You’ll be able to tap into an ancient source of power and wisdom…
Activating your pineal gland and helping you connect with your spiritual path.
Right now, technology overshadows tradition.
That’s why I believe that rediscovering these practices can be profoundly healing.
It offers a path back that can help us understand ourselves and our place in the universe…
The Moon offers us a mirror to our inner world.
It truly reflects the cycles of growth, renewal and transformation that we experience within.
This really got me thinking that we are all part of the same source…
As within is without, and as above is below.
The practices outlined above are invitations to deepen your relationship with the cosmos, with nature…
And with the deepest parts of yourself.
I encourage you to embrace these practices with an open heart and mind.
Each phase of the moon offers a unique environment for growth, healing, and reflection.
Learn to tune into these natural rhythms, just like I’m doing…
And together we can unlock the power of our pineal gland.
Stay tuned,
Eric Thompson
